The winds of change are blowing through the church in the USA today. There are those who see these winds as dangerous and heretical: whereas, the opposite bank embraces such change as a spiritual awakening.
Billy Hallowell with The Blaze has quoted The Pew Research Center’s Religious Landscape Study indicating that mainstream Christianity favors acceptability of homosexuality and that the increase of those favoring homosexual marriage unions is in the majority throughout the United States church. What is the catalyst producing such change? It is believed that young America, now entering adulthood, is the centerpiece for the changing climate of this attitudinal metamorphosis.
“The argument rages on both sides of the issue as what God’s word states in terms of homosexuality.”
The argument continues to rage on both sides of the issue as to what God’s word states in terms of homosexuality. On the one hand, there is the pro-homosexual camp who believe the Bible supports homosexual marriage if it is monogamous and fulfills the marital expectations of both parties. On the other hand, there is the antithesis of the pro-homosexual camp whose stance is homosexuality, in itself, is an abominable sin and that homosexual marriage equates to an act against God.
The questions facing Christianity are these:
- Does the Bible indicate in word and/or imply that homosexuality is an acceptable Christian lifestyle?
- Is God’s holy word, as found in Holy Scripture, the voice of God to mankind denouncing homosexual acts as abominable sin (disobedience in defiance of God’s word) and unacceptable to God?
Do you, the Christian reader, have a biblical opinion regarding this high-profile subject facing Jesus’ church today?
